About Me: Very average bowler. Trying to get tips on improving my skills. I have bowled for only a couple years except for a few times back in the day. I enjoy it but I have difficulty making the next step up in average. An injury and surgery I believe has some to do with performance.
Music: Rock, Reggae, Jazz, Country, R & B, basically anything but Rap
Likes: Diversity, honesty, loyalty, integrity, culture, beaches, lighthouses, mountains and more.
Dislikes: People who lie and deceive others. People who try to be something they are not instead of being themselves and what they believe in.
Hobbies: Art - drawing, painting, graphics, writing, travel, skiing, bowling, hockey games, photography, volunteering, home restoration, gardening, cultural events, etc, etc.
Virtues: I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise.

    Improve Average

    Thursday, April 26, 2007, 02:07 PM [General]

An average bowler here with a not so good average.  Looking for tips and friends who like to bowl.  I have only been bowling for a couple years other than a few times in high school but I would like to improve. I have a life outside of bowling, but I would like to improve my game so I feel a bit more competitive.

Hello there! Thanks for the add.I guess the first thing,is to get comfortable with your approach and to let the ball do the work.Dont force a shot and try to stay consistent with your mark.Once you see how the lanes are reacting, then you can make an adjustment. What kind of bowling ball do you throw?Straight or curved?Take care and hope to hear from ya.

Thanks for the comment :) The two best ways I know of to improve are to practice (I bowl near a house that gives women free practice after 10 p.m.) and hire a coach. My coach has made monstrous improvements in my game and he gets 90% of the credit for how well I've bowled. I'm giving myself 10% since I'm the one throwing the shots ;)
